I need to change the kimono on the wall. The ume geisha susohiki are still hanging there, it's June!
I wanted to hang my nice crepe silk hitoe on the wall because it's so lovely and for some reason quite a pain to dress in.
The kimono is exceptionally long (for a Taisho) and the sleeves are lovely long too. Even longer then shown now since they have been shortened. If I would take the stitches out the sleeves will become at least 10cm. longer. And judging by the bold (embroidered) pattern she was a real furisode ones.
I found a nice purple hitoe obi in my hitoe drawer and used it to let the purple flowers repeat.
Black accessories to show the black accents in the kimono.
But thought maybe a white obi jime would look better because it kind of missed some "light" and the white obi jime would show the white in the kimono...
And... my new wig. It's a crushed shimada style, I love this style and wigs like this do not turn up that often. Of course, I already have one, so it was an unnecessary buy, but she was so cheap!
This wig is very different from all my other wigs. First, much lighter! Which is great. The smell is also very different and the hair a lot less, so I am guessing this was a theater dance performance wig...

I love your kitsuke!! You are my fashion kimono inspiration ^^
Wauw, thanks for the compliment!
I love your tansu btw... it's so big. ^_^
That is such a beautiful kimono! And both black and white obijime match. Just a quick question. When you're doing kitsuke, do you let the kimono touch the ground or is it just above it?
Yes she's nice ha, I hope you can see her soon in real life, the embroidery is just gorgeous!
Hum... depending on the lenght of the kimono and the formality. Real formal kimono I try to let just touch the floor, so it's just off when wearing zori, non formal I try just brushing my feet. When the kimono is real short, lower ankle is my aim, I try never to show the enkle bone, does that make sense?
That makes sense. Thanks for the tip!
uhu... I wasn't completely right. What I do is: the back just touches the floor, the front right panel I lift approximately 5 to 10cm. of the floor and the left panel approximately 3 to 5, this makes the kimono slightly smaller at the bottom creating a more tubular line and it helps you keeping it closed when walking.
Okay, now I just have to wait until my new kimono and other stuff arrive and I will try it ^_^
this is such an interesting blog, beautiful kimono
I like your hair do ! The short blond one. But what is this ! hahaha___ :-0
