Queensday

This year Queensday sucked big time. Queensday is a free time for everybody and a fun day to party and be happy. I worked today and it was hard on me. Working on Queensday can be very fun because people are happy, but today, no. I feel sick, tired and used. Today I totally hate my job. Even wearing kimono was not as fun as normally.
Though it is a nice kimono... Forget work lets talk kimono.
Its lovely purple and woven, (the seller said tsumugi, maybe, seems like meisen, to be honest I do not know if it can't be the same, tsumugi spun silk, woven in meisen way...?) paired with a whine red shibory patterned obi, this way I could make the color contrast but also the contrast in material, woven versus dyed, I like it. Maybe a bit bright, and for the mood I was in, way too bright, but well she's nice and now is wisteria time so... A bit weird to wear a wisteria patterned kimono while the wisteria is in full bloom; neglecting the rule: never compete with the real thing. Strange rule because I have hitoe kimono with wisteria too, and by the time we can wear hitoe the wisteria is most certainly in full bloom, even if spring is not as hot as this year.
And one good thing at work a friend came by, liked my dress and he let me talk (complain) for a bit, that helped a little. It is always good when friends stop by.

hello
it my first time to post on your blog,
though sometime I check your blog.
I'm surprised that you put on Kimono very well.

I also like and have MEISEN kimono and SHIBORI obi.
I'm looking forward to your new topic.

Kazumi, thank you for the compliment, it means a lot to me! I looked at your site and envy you, I want kimono parties too, and men dressed in kimono attending hihi that’s so nice. It really means a lot to me you like my kimono dressing, so you don't think it's weird, tall Dutch girl in kimono?

I don't think it's weird at all.
because you seem to know some rules about kimono.
how do you learn about kimono?

Thank you!
I am learning from books The Book Of Kimono by Mr. Yamanaka, some more English titles, a lot of kitsuke books I ordered from amazon.jp and the internet. And of course other kimono lovers on the web. ^_^
