60's Space

As I am in a 60's mood...
I thought this Mamechiyo Modern kimono would be perfect
Later I will try more styles with more styling
this was just a quick try dress.

Anyway, Mamechiyo Modern's Space kimono in green
it's wool, so perfect for the season
and I love wool kimono, easy to wear, to take care of soft... etc.

To completely go with the 60's style, I am growing my hair a bit to achieve a Twiggy Bob

It will take about 4 to 6 months, maybe less the hairdresser said.

But actually I am already quite happy ^_^

(and of course the heavy 60's make-up)

Oh I love it both your hair and the kimono. A Twiggy Bob would suit you so well. And ofc you can go to the hairdresser, but just let them only take off the ends. You will see it will grow better each time the ends are take off.

*sigh* Maybe my next project to save for is a Mamechiyo kimono. Oh my poor wallet hihi.

Yes I know, and this hairdresser does too ^_^

Save for one! Yukata and wool are ok priced, but still, you need to save, yes very poor wallets, but happy girls!

I want to take shots of my kimono like you do. Any hints for the proper studio set up?

Buy a tripod and always face a window that's the easiest way.

I went to some trial kitsuke classes and I loved it. Sadly, I had a new schedule at work, so I can't go anymore. But it took me ages to wear a kimono in an almost proper way.
How long did it take to you at the beginning and how long does it take now? =)
And I see you know a lot of kinds of kimono. Can you suggest me some books or webpages where learn something more about it? I live in Japan, Osaka, I can read also Japanese =)
Hope to be able to wear a kimono or a yukata faster soon.

at the beginning it took me an hour or more, I don't know. Now it takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the kimono and the state I am in.
Just practice. The more you do it the easier it gets.
As you are in Japan, go to a bookstore and in the textiles and craft section, a lot of kimono books and magazines can be found.
good luck
