Rain

Just a quicky to say I love my (new) house!

The wind in the trees, the rain falling down.
Mmm I did think to call this picture... please God stop!
It's just too much rain, even hail every ones in a while, it feels like fall, please! It's summer time I want to wear my summer dresses not my autumn clothing...
Never mind, all is good. It's so quite here, realy, my place is a haven in busy life, I love it!
Tonight, I sat in my window sill (again, I think it's my favourite palce) watching the wind tear at the trees and the sound was so wonderful, peaceful. No, I can't complain it's just good, all is good...

Museum

Another post, two in one day haha. It was and still is a weird day. I came home really late, thought to just quickly check something’s in my computer look at some pictures I took and answer some emails I forgot... and suddenly it was six o'clock, oops! I decided not to sleep and change into kimono so I could take pictures with the gorgeous blue morning light. But rain sabotaged my plan... I went a bit later. In my new (well bought last summer and never worn yet) black and white yukata with red obi, using padding in my lower-back, it does work! On to the "museumplein" laughing with the tourists.

Taking pictures I looked up and... he you are no tourist, there was a friend of mine, saying:
"I saw a lady in kimono and thought that must be you... had coffee yet? Or breakfast?"
No to both, so he took me (after taking some pictures of me himself) for muffins and coffee. Sometimes everything is just fun!

And then the sun showed his face dramatically through the clouds! The weather man said the weather was "gloomy" I do not agree, I would rather say, theatrical, beautiful skies! Sadly they where behind the camera... But my friend took some at that angle, so I'll show later. Just let me go on with my vanity streak...

Museumplein really is a wonderful place. I love to sit next to the water and just dream my morning away. Morning's the tourist aren’t there yet or not that many and it's so peaceful, also in the evening and so quiet! Yes, it's a good place to dream, and take pictures ^_~

Girls

Sunday was really fun. I was very tired from working and preparing, but dressing the two young ladies was really nice to do. I made many mistakes and was kind of stressed, but all in all, it was ok and I won't complain.

Most fun thing was I think to meet another kimono lover.
Hey Anne, it was really lovely meeting you! I hope we can and will talk kimono often!

Kimono Demo

Yes! I will be doing a demo again. The 17th of June I will be dressing two young ladies in Hilversum. One I will dress as a bride in a vintage brides furisode and one as a geisha. To be honest I am a little scared, because the weather is hot and humid. But, I really want to do this, hoping this will give me new contacts so... I'll take the risk with some of my kimono. Lets see which geisha kimono would not make me cry if she got even more stained.
And what should I wear myself? Yukata would be most comfortable, but I guess way to informal, maybe if I dressed it up with a nagajuabn and a nice obi with accessories? But then it's still way to hot and I could just as well wear a synthetic ro kimono... oh choices!
And... now to find a friend who will be willing to make pictures. Because of course I will need pictures. I can take pictures when the ladies are dressed, but not during the dressing make up event and I want pictures of that too.

Failed attempt and maiko underwear

Today was one of those days... everything failed. I dressed up in kimono with soft geisha make-up, well dance make up, the type worn when not wearing a wig (according to my make up book) but I failed misserably... the make up looked bleh, as did the kimono.
Well, the kimono is great, so pretty! The kimono is a crepe hitoe with the most beautiful yuzen painting on her and gorgeous all hand done silk embroidery, really really pretty. The obi is a very nice ro silk maru obi (ahum, both sides are the same but there is a blank part... strange! It´s too early for ro, but obi are always first and it's warm enough over here ^_^
My kitsuke is horrible nothing worked today *sigh*

I should have stopped, just accept that things where not working today, but all that make up all the efford... I'll try again soon..

The pictures... non of them are sharp why?!? I really don't get it and feel very frustrated, how in the world will I be able to make new work if I can't even take sharp pictures?

But, I also got a call from my friend where I lived before telling me a package from Japan arrived... hu? Why there, evreybody has my new address. So I cleaned myself up and went to collect my package it was the maiko nagayuban! She's gorgeous really gorgeous. Want to sleep now I'll tell more later...
